Stepping out in Faith

Recently I made a big career change from a salary payed position that I held for 5 years to a commission only career… Real Estate.
For those of you who have not heard the story, I was approached by a few different women on different occasions that suggested I get in to real estate. By the fourth person over a months time frame I realized that God was doing his best to open my eyes to another path. I still put it off for a few more weeks. You know when you hit that moment where you turn to God, and say…Ok God if this is REALLY you THEN…

Well that THEN happened again that day another lady mentioned me getting into real estate. So I got online that day and signed up for a course that took me less than 3 weeks to finish with flying colors. I took the exam within a week of receiving the state confirmation. Prayed over the test, took it in less than an hour and out prints the CONGRATULATIONS YOU PASSED form. Yep that easy!

So then came the figure out how to go from a completely secure job to a non payed until I closed something job. Not to mention the almost $2000 it cost to start my Real Estate Career. So I prayed & prayed, every day over every situation that I struggled with. When I say prayed… I mean specifically prayed.

The current Job: On my way to talk with the Boss “Lord please put on my boss’s heart exactly when I should make the transition, whether it is this month, 6 months or a year. Please give him wisdom in guiding me not only in the best timing but the manner of transition.” So that conversation went exactly how I prayed. He told me when and how I should make the transitioned…so I did that exactly.

Choosing a Real Estate Company: After interviewing with 2 companies and having 3 others awaiting while I was driving I prayed ” Lord, I don’t want to chose a company out of my own desires and what sounds good in what they provide as a company or what the commissions splits will be. I know you have designated my steps into this career I want to follow every step exactly. Please have the broker of the company that you would like me to hang my license with call me TODAY. When he calls me have him ask me “WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE A REALTOR”. ” I figured this was specific enough for me not to call it a coincidence ūüôā

AND …..

The broker of Keller Williams Realty called me with in an hour and asked me why I wanted to get into real estate…. WOW right.

To this moment ( almost 2 months later), I have continued to seek God in every decision I make. I had a Real Estate closing (meaning a paycheck) 30 days after I made the transition, leaving our family no lapse in income. I have spent a tremendous amount of time with my 3 girls and the rest of my family and friends here in my hometown. I realized that God wasn’t giving me a career to love, he was giving me a LIFE to LOVE. He was giving me more time with my family, more time with my friends, more time to focus on learning the Bible, more time to build new relationships. In some ways this is the most difficult aspect to release control over (the money you rely on to live). I have always been taught if I wasn’t working I wasn’t providing for my family. I understand now that God’s desire is to reshape the way I think about truly living and providing for my family on this earth. It’s not about the lifestyle we can provide for ourselves in types of homes, cars, debt, savings, material things, ect… it’s about being the love, hands and feet he created us to be in Christ.

GOD is a Relationship GOD. His intention is¬†to create a being that loves each other unconditionally & cares for each other’s well being above our own. Understanding this is one thing, but stepping out in faith, listening, following & responding to God’s desire for your life is completely different. I have learned that most of the time it goes completely against what LIFE & REALITY is to us.

We want COMFORT….. we find it in the arms of a loved one or the positive flow of our bank account or the security of our job. Our trust & desire when TRULY given to God should need no other comfort.¬†When this is our reality then we find peace and comfort when all things around us are falling apart. I pray that you find comfort in God’s desire for your heart and for your life. I pray that every second of every day is another step in faith trusting HIS plan even when you can’t see the outcome.

Counting Calories…Does it work?

Yes! I absolutely with out a doubt fully stand behind your bodies natural design to utilize food as fuel, daily living & creating a healthy happy life balance.
Your body was designed to operated off of a certain amount of calories with each passing day & with each activity!

Here is where I see the issues with counting calories.

Your body was designed to utilize each Macro-Nutrient a particular way. If you are feed yourself too much carbs or too much fats or too much protein then your body can not operate efficiently. Just like Transmission fluid in the oil tank or gas in the brake lines! Your body needs particular foods for particular functions. These functions include energy, brain function, muscle repair, immune system, digestion, healing ect…

I highly suggest educating yourself about

1. What are macro-nutrients: Proteins (animal & vegetable), Fats (good and bad), Complex Carbohydrates, Vegetables & Fruits

2. Which foods = which macro-nutrients: Proteins (animal & vegetable), Fats (good and bad), Complex Carbohydrates, Vegetables & Fruits

3. What your body uses each macro nutrient for: Energy, Healing, Rebuilding, Re-Fueling, Digesting Ect..

This is your body, your life, gain control through education! Do not let the world or media dictate what you know about your own body & what you feed it on a daily basis.

Are you POOPING?

I am often perplexed that some people do not make this correlation so why not talk about it! POOP has everything to do with your metabolism, how you feel, weight loss & even health. Often POOPING is a very shy subject, however reality is, it’s not only normal, it is very much so needed!! If you are having trouble pooping… Meaning if you do not poop daily or at least every other day, then you definitely need to pay your digestive system some attention asap.

Your body is designed to run, energize, fuel, heal & operate off of food. However it can not nor will it use everything you eat even if it is all healthy. Your body has to rid “waste” or foods that it isn’t using every time you eat. They say it takes up to 12 hours for the entire eat-to-waste process. So theoretically if you are going several days with out pooping, then your body is a walking time bomb waiting to explode. Literally.¬†

1. If your stomach and digestive system is not working properly your body can not adequately increase its metabolism! Meaning Lose Weight!

2. You will start to smell like POOP! If you are not eliminating you will start to smell like waste product from every place your body can eliminate from.

3. Not POOPING can make you very frustrated, irritated or even angry.¬†You’d be surprised what you will feel like¬†when you begin to fix your POOPING issue!¬†

If you have any questions private message me on FB ūüôā I’d love to share all of the things I have learned about POOPING!

Truth about FAT

Their is definitely the need for FAT in our Diets! I know unbelievable huh? Why all the hype in the weight loss world to cut fats? I’m not going to go into the science mumbo jumbo, here is what you need to know and understand to make awesome adjustments!

#1. Fat is just a category of fats, you should know the following:

Trans Saturated Fats: AKA MAN MADE & BAD FOR YOU! (anything that includes the word Hydrogen or anything like this word (0% of your calories)

Saturated Fats: Naturally occurring, mainly from ANIMALS. NEEDED BUT VERY READILY AVAILABLE SO WE GET A LOT (5-%10% of your calories)

Unsaturated Fats: Naturally occurring in Fish, nuts seeds and plants (like avocados). VERY VERY GOOD (25%-30% of your calories)

#2. Fats Balance Hormones! What woman doesn’t need to naturally balance your hormones?? ¬†Hormones are produced using fatty acids and cholesterol. If you are denying your body these nutrients then hormone problems arise. Especially “women” hormones. Great additions include egg yolks, avocados, coconut oil, soaked nuts & seeds and olives/olive oil.

#3. Remember food was designed to fuel, heal, energize, balance & be on our side! Man-made or man-altered food has un-natural products, chemicals & things our body was not designed to digest. If you are trying to change your nutrition I suggest changing your mindset to bring balance to your diet. Begin to think of food as healing and energizing. Re-design the way you think of food.

Where to Begin

If you are finding yourself here today reading this blog, you are ready to grow with God. I find that some people have the yearning for God’s growth in their lives, yet they do not even know why or even who God is.

I am here to tell you that is ok. God has revealed himself to you through the urgency to get to know Him. Finding a spiritual mentor is in my opinion the first step. I feel that it is natural for us to seek advice from those around us. Especially when we are going through something difficult. It is ok and humanly natural to want and seek guidance. But what if the guidance you are seeking is taking you down a path of destruction, frustration & emptiness? When you find a spiritual mentor, He/She will guide you in the direction of God’s plan for your life. Growing and reaching the true touch of the Love of God will reveal peace, love and comfort beyond any guidance to fixing what you have going on right now.

Some Ideas for Spiritual Mentors:

1. Family that you know has sought God’s design for their life & lives by HIS direction

2. Pastor of your church or a new church if you are looking

3. Women’s Ministry Leader or Volunteers Start asking

4. Friend that you know is head over heels in LOVE with Jesus

Small Steps to Weight Loss Success

Losing weight is nearly the most researched topic on the internet today & probably the one with the most amount of information. Ugh How frustrating is that! What diet works best for me? Why do I fail every time I try to diet? I know what to do I just need accountability!

Well Here is my Tidbit on Weight Loss Today!

Start with One Change Each Week. Pick a Day. Monday, Friday, Sunday. It doesn’t matter. However this will be your DAY¬†every week!¬†You have to keep a few things in mind. Your “DAY” can not and will not change. Once you set your day that’s it. The next important factor is whatever you choose you have to be committed! Meaning You only have to change one thing per week. DO NOT PICK THE HARDEST THING FIRST! If you are a sweetaholic, carbaholic, breadaholic or what have you do not make this your first change. My suggestion is to choose something like this:

1. I will eat 2 Eggs and 1 slice of Toast Every Day this week for breakfast.

2. I will Take a Bottle of Water with me & fill it up 3 times per day.

3. I will go to bed by 10pm every night.

4. I will stretch for 15 minutes every morning with no exception

5. I will Drink an 8oz glass of water with every meal.

6. I will Bring Fruit to snack on every day this week

7. I will not eat candy all week, instead I will eat grapes

Give it a Try and I post here to let us keep you accountable!!
